Daily Panorama: Gardens, National Botanical Gardens, Wales
Contrary to my original concept of only publishing panoramas created on the day they were made, this was created yesterday. Yes, I’ve broken my only rule!
Given that today was a work day, albeit a lovely sunny day, I didn’t get the opportunity to capture anything. I’ve been experimenting with the Windows version of PhotoSynth instead and am very impressed with some of the outputs. More soon…
Anyway, this is from the National Botanical Gardens in Wales, with lovely light from the rare sun. This is a simple horizontal panorama, mostly due to speed but I think it’s enough.

Daily Panorama: Lower level of Dome, National Botanicsl Gardens of Wales, nr. Carmarthen
Didn’t exactly get much opportunity to keep still in the National Botanical Garden of Wales, but was actually able to fire off a couple of bouts of the iPhone Photosynth app today. Created a couple of fairly okay panoramas which I could have done a better job on with the luxury of time!
Anyway, the sun was out, air was cold and the punters were in while there was an antiques fair and especially while the entry is free (all January 2012).
This is a quick pano taken from the underground water bit in the dome at the gardens. To say it was busy down there while I had the camera out is a gross understatement.

Daily Panorama: Ye Ole Shopping Village (Fictional)
Just had a bit of fun here sat down low in a fictional village in a kids play area. Most of my time here was spent pushing the little ‘un, so doing a quick panorama was a nice relief.
And the kids do love them Cosy Coupes don’t they?

Daily Panorama: Prissy’s Kitchen!
A few nice drinks at Prissy’s and I felt drawn to doing a pano of the kitchen with trusty old Photosynth on the iPhone.
Her house has some really interesting features and trinkets, so I’m going to do a more interesting one in her living room or study sometime soon and try to capture more of her.
However, the robot and Tom Baker Doctor Who are lovely. The robot in particular does a lovely move or three.

Daily Panorama: Sketty Hall’s Glynn Vivian Room
An actual panorama for a change of the inside of the Glynn Vivian room at Gower College Swansea’s Sketty Hall building based in the leafy Singleton Park, Swansea.
Not such an interesting room, there are better locations in the nice parts of the building, but I had a little time and silence for a change. Did scuff up a few bits though to my regret, but it was handheld.

Daily Panorama: West Facing View From The Office (looking out to Sketty and The Mumbles)
Started back at work today following three weeks off and my was it hard trying to get back into the groove.
This is actually the view from behind my chair. I previously had a desk facing in this direction – give or take a few feet – but now I am inward facing, with only my colleagues to view in our cramped space.
Although you can’t see the detail here, in the very distance is the seaside village Mumbles, a lovely part of Swansea.
And yes, I could have removed the window, but I like it as a frame for the miniature contents outside.

Daily Panorama: Early Dinner Party, Fish Pie
Dinner was served early at around 5pm with kids in mind. Took a quick opportunity to capture the adults at the table and informed them to keep still!
None of them wanted to keep still, hence the blurs. It was also a very quick capture.
Daily Panorama: Colourful Octopus
Less panorama, more photo-stitch, but actually done with Photosynth in the end. Seeing as it is even less pano than normal, I elected to do some post-processing in Camera+ (a neat replacement for the standard iPhone camera app) and used a vintage style filter thing (Instagram-esque) and Polaroid frame.
I’ll leave you to work out what it is. Not exactly hard is it?
Daily Panorama: Daisy’s Garden
For those of you who’ve seen my efforts so far, you’ll probably think that this is a little better than most and that’s because I was helped. As with all my other panoramas, I’m still doing it shaky hand-held on the iPhone and am moving around like a thin and wispy tree violently clinging on for life in the 100mph winds.
One piece of advice I received for doing panoramas hand-held (that I always aimed to follow but never seem to) was to have an anchor point below you so you know where to keep the camera. However, I generally drift for one reason or another. On this occasion though, I stood in the very centre of a garden circle and the result was a bit more successful. I should have cropped the bottom off though as it looks pretty weird.
Whatever, I like it. Maybe I should get myself a piece of circular paper which I could drop wherever I go to do panos. Might look a little silly tho’.
